ON an 88 YJ How is an easy way to tell what axle is under it to explain to someone in a different state?? They say it has a factory towing package and I don't know how to explain or ask a question to see what rear is under it?? Can anyone help...thanks Steve

Below is a Spicer ID chart...
1- Date
2- Bill of Material
2A- Axle ID Tag
3- Model Number
4- Ratio Tag
5- Limited Lubrication Tag
Towing packages typically are set up with 4:10 ratio gearing

You always have good advice, but charts to go with it ,too. Man.

Rubber oil fill hole = 35 W/ c-clips
Threaded oil fill hole = 35 wothout c-clips
The only YJs I heard of not having a 35 were Canada gov. models
Also count the bolts and shape of the cover.
