Title: Gear Oil
Post by: etaucher on November 11, 2008, 08:30:06 pm
Sorry for another thread, but I can't find the answer Im looking for. I just finally got my Rear Swap done today, and I stuck in 1 quart of Gear Oil, I stuck my finger in to check the level, and nothing.....So I stuck in another quart of gear oil, and still nothing. How much gear oil do the 8.25's hold? Im running it right now with 2 quarts of gear oil. Is that to low?

I really wasn't clear on the question I was asking. I was asking how much more should I go out and buy. I bought 2 quarts and it used all 2. Should I go out and buy 2 more, 1 more, ect, ect. I don't want to buy it and not use it.

1 more should do  i just used the extra for the front and its good to have around in case you accidently pry a seal loose on a rock   oops.    but 1 more should do it.

After deep water crossings you'll want to change it anyway, it won't go to waste if you wheel it.
