recently a loud squeak as been coming from the from the front of my '99 XJ, before and after new pads and rotars were installed. the squeak only seems start after driving it for a bit and up to 20 mph.

Just a guess I'm thinking of is the double cardian centering ball in the front drive shaft. If you remove the whole front shaft and the squeak goes away, you will help find your problem. If you have "central axle disconnect" than your front shaft won't spin in 2wd so you don't have to try this.

Yup, check joints in the front shaft.
They just might need a good greasing too. Dry joints squeak at low speed.
If you have a double cardon joint and the center ball is bad, have fun changing that one.....It can be a PITA
