Alright Im getting eather a 6 or 10 gallon 150PSI air compressor that runs off 120 volts. Iv been looking at power inverters and found this.

It says its 115 volts, will that be strong enough to run the air compressor that Im getting?

not even close. that will work for charging batteries or running small appliances like a mini coffee pot or laptop, a low volt corded drill, stuff like that. you would need something with in range of what the compressor will use.

That thing will power a lamp so you can see what you can't fix due to not having enough power to run your electric tools.
If you're looking to operate air tools from your vehicle you need to set yourself up with on-board air...Plain-N-Simple, unless you are wanting to install a power inverter that is the size of a child car seat.

Thats what the inverter is for, so I can use an air compressor

I understand that, but the one you are looking at will not work for what you want to do.
You'll need one that has a much larger capacity.

For that kind of power, you'll need a MINIMUM of 1500 W CONTINUOUS. That's continuous as in many minutes of operation with little to no recovery time. Some of the continuous ratings you'll come across will have fine print that specify a 30% or worse duty cycle (5-10 minutes on with 30-45 minutes off). That won't cut it with a compressor. Inverters with the kinds of specs you'll need will take up half the rear seat or more and really drain batteries and throw mucho heat. If you don't want on-board air, look for a gas-powered compressor.

See....I tried to tell you.
The M38"s I drove in the Marine Corps had inverters that consumed 1/2 the back seat but provided continuous power.
Oh the fun we had on our "unauthorized" trips in that sucker ;D >:D :D ;)

just throwin this out there but what about the a/c to air air pump idea. you could use it to fill the tank and the compressor part will be on the engine.

Not sure what you mean by replacement type. It works and I payed 40 so that what I would like for it. I'm pretty sure it's the 10 ci ,but I haven't pulled the clutch for positive id. the pt # is AMC 5461585

What your talking about is the AC replacement right? So I can run on board air via the ac right?
