Ok....my 97 TJ SE was giving me some issues after a rain....ran like crap, sputtering and all that kind of stuff....so I went ahead and changed the plugs....still having the same issue....dumb question but should I go ahead and change the wires as well?

I know, idiot question but what the hey....

"Sputtering", to me, means a fuel problem and "Missing" would lead me to think electrical, i.e., plugs, wires, etc.

If you thought electrical, then the first two things I would've looked at would be the wires and the Dist Cap (if it has one).  Especially if I had issues after a rain. That's the best I can do.

Did you run through some puddles or standing water?

Had a similar problem at Rausch Creek before after water got in the distributor cap. Opened it up, dried it out, also sprayed WD-40 around the connections and solved the problem. The WD-40 drives out moisture...
