Title: 4.0 XJ Exhaust
Post by: SteveTheFolkie on April 10, 2012, 08:25:59 pm
Sorry if this question is redundant in nature, however, I have a 1995 XJ with a knackered exhaust system - in paticular the pipe from the headers (LS of the Jeep) to the exhaust (under the tranny to the RS of the jeep) is shot.  Looking for parts this particular pipe seems a bit, um, expensive, yeah, that's the word!  Living in Adams county with no emissions inspection required, is there a fairly simple way (for a somewhat simple person) to fabricate an exhaust, minus the cat (or with the cat, I have noting against cats!) that would exit the LEFT side of the XJ rather than the right?
Thanks - and my dues will be on their way tomorrow evening!

Cheers

Steve

has to go out the right to clear the transfer case, the down pipe can be ran into a cherry bomb straight style and a length of straight pipe right into the tail pipe that eliminates the cat  probably about $125 total for price. thats how i run mine with a straight thru cat  ;D.
