Title: Buying a grand

Looking to buy a Grand Cherokee - other than rust is are there weaknesses that I should be looking out for?  Currently looking at a 1995 - damn nice condition but lots of miles (230K) - figuring on replacing the engine and trans (Chrysler crate for both) eventually - would like it to be my last vehicle - (currently 55 so things may change - but not much!)

1995 is the first year and a lot of gremlins, what motor is in it?
