PA Jeeps Club Events / August 2-4 Annual Potomac State Forest Trailride and Campout

Hi Folks,

I am very pleased to report that the Annual Potomac State Forest Trailride and Campout is locked in for the weekend of August 2-4, 2013. We will be at the same group site that we have used for the last so many decades.

As in the past, the Stevens family will make a vacation of this trip. We will be coming in earlier that week and leaving the follow week. Feel free to join us.

 

Things your family can do that week would include:

Fishing

Swimming

Boating

Site Seeing

The Shawnee Indian Trading Post (wild place)

Deep Creek Lake

Jennings/Randolph Lake (out favorite)

Black Water Falls, W. Va.

 

Unless you hate the outdoors, it is difficult to get board there. Enjoy the quiet and clean air. Last year, it hit 108 degrees in Baltimore while we were there. The hottest day there was 85 degrees. That is not even typical for there. Generally, it rarely gets out of the 70's. Unless a Hurricane is coming up the Ohio Valley, the air is generally dryer there, as well.

PA Jeeps Club Events / May 18 Safety Class/ Go Topless

Saturday May 18 will be a off pavement safety driving class at Rausch Creek held in the big garage at 8:30am. The class will be taught by our Safety Director Bob Bracken. Please make sure to pay your driver fee for the day as we will be wheeling after class.

It is also "Go Topless Day" so a bag lunch will be provided for participants in the class and we will have a club social followed by some light wheeling.

Please post if you will be able to make this event so I know how many lunches to bring.

April 20 is the annual spring black trails only club ride. I am posting this early because i know some people look forward to this trail run. Post if you can make it. Meet at RC at 8am. we will be going over to the newer side to tackle the black trails we have never done.

If your name happens to have the letters "im" and you are coming....bring a spare or 10 cans of starter fluid and a box of matches....lmao

Chris make sure you check those lug nuts on the trailer.

Dan bring duct tape for Daves mouth when he screams.

NON PA Jeeps Events / May 11,2013 Wounded Hero Ride

Wounded Hero Ride on May 11, 2013. The registration fee per vehicle is $70 for non-members and $55 for members. Passenger rates are $7 for members and $10 for non-members, per passenger. Part of the registration fees will be donated to the Wounded Warrior Project.

Check out www.rauschcreekadventures.com and go to the "online store." You can pre-register there for the event, but as far as I know you can register the day of the event as well.

This is a wonderful opportunity to show appreciation for our veterans.

PA Jeeps Club Events / Snow tubing

As you all know from your newsletter Snow Tubing is Saturday Feb 23 at Avalanche Express.  I have tickets and will arrive about 10 or 10:30 am.

If you are a PAID member of PA Jeeps you will receive tickets for you, your spouse/ significant other, and children. If you have not paid your dues yet you better get them in the mail if you want to come....as of the meeting there were not that many paid in.

The club will also be providing hot-dogs, marsh-mellows and hot coco.

This is also subject to change depending on weather and how many lanes that are open. I will post Friday before the event if it is canceled. As of right now all lanes are open and its cold!
