Gear Ratio
« on: July 29, 2010, 09:32:12 pm »
I'm looking at a 95 YJ with a 4 cyl and auto.  If I want to run 35s on this what gears do I need to be running in this to actually make it move and be ok at offroading?

I'm thinking at least 4:56 and possibly 4:88
But if it has a Dana 35 rear axle don't even try 35's before swapping in a 44

I'm almost sure its the old crappy 35,  but Im looking at a Ford 9 for the rear and a Dana44 from a Bronco.  but in the mean time a quick change in gear set may be an option till I blow the damn thing apart.  Did all 4cylinders come with 4.10 rears?  The other option is a 60 and 44from a  FSJ.  Maybe I should just get a M715 and just drive it!
