2023 Introduction to Trail Riding at AOAA
« on: January 23, 2023, 02:33:53 pm »
We are holding trail day separate from our regular club trail rides so that members who have never driven off-road will not feel as though they are holding up more experienced members – everyone will be a ‘newbie’, there are no dumb questions. This is also an opportunity for those who are normally a passenger to try their hand at driving. All are welcome from non-experience to experience.
This event is aimed at those club members who have never driven off-road and would like to take their Jeep on the trails. We will be on ‘green’ the easiest grade of trails.
The day will start off with introductions and a drivers briefing, with each driver giving a walk-around of their Jeep and
how to prepare your Jeep for the trail.
Next, we will go out on the trail together.
During the day there will be demonstrations of such topics as; following a spotter’s direction, tow recovery, flexing out your Jeep.
There will be plenty of opportunities to stop take pictures and ask questions.
Arrive for 8:30am, check-in and pay your park fees.
Drivers briefing will be at 9am.
If you have a GMRS radio, please bring it with you.
Bring your own lunch, we will plan to be back at the trail head for lunch.
Expect to be off the trails by 3:30pm and started on your journey home by 4pm.
Times may vary depending upon the weather and trail conditions.
