Well, the last I have delt with my trac bar was sending it to Rusty's for them to do some research on it. I guess they found the threaded part was a bit weak and since then beefed it up. But I haven't got to try the new end out. I opened a can of worms a few months back by starting multiple projects at once and then we hit our slow season at work. Now I am scrounging around for money to get the project rolling again. It seems as if the Rustys trac bar will be sturdy enough now. But I would upgrade to the heavy duty mount and heavy duty end inestead of the tire rod end it comes with. All in all it might be less hassle to go with another brand trac bar.

I'm new here but have been on NAXJA for a few years now. If you want to run 33's and do it on a budget look up info on cut and folding the rear fenders for clearence and trimming the front. I used ZJ V8 front coils, 2 extra coil isolators as a spacer, and a full XJ stock leaf pack cut down and made into a bastard pack, for 3" of lift. If you extend your bumpstops and brakelines (GM front brakelines and 96 Dakota rear are 6" longer) and get new shocks you can fit 33"s nicely. Then your not up so high that you'd need a SYE and a trackber isn't absolutly needed.

I'd suggest checking out naxja.org and go.jeep-xj.info (not up right now hopfully soon). Those are the best places to learn what you could do with an XJ. And on NAXJA search for their junkyard upgrades thread. Its really helpful and I'd suggest a ZJ V8 tie rod if your going to run 33"s the stock one is little more than a wet noodle with big tires on.

late 80's early 90's coils in the front leafs in the rear, i think jeep forum has a good right up on it.

90's S10 leaf cut the main leaf down and swap the leaves together for up to 4.5" in the back. I've rode in a jeep with the ford coils and it was really stiff and the front didn't flex alot. The ford coils are actually shorter then Xj stock coils, the reason they give you lift is because they're so stiff. If your looking for 4.5" coils surf the for sale sections in a few different forums. Usually you can find a set for around $75. Tj coils are supposably 1" shorter with a similar spring rate FYI.
