I dropped off my blue 181 CJ8 two months ago to have 4.10 gears, Yukon one piece axle shafts (AMC20) and install a lockright locker I bought new 17 years ago.  Since then this has gotten more expensive and had some setbacks and delays.  Today I went down paid basically the entirety of my wages these last two months and drove home 56.2 miles when...........it promptly broke,  the axle shaft parting company with the jeep while in motion.  The Shop in quest came promptly with a trailer and collected it,  Right now I am pretty confident that they are going to take care of the issues.  At least it did not happen until I was getting off the interstate instead of at speed.

I am also half way done installing a hydraulic clutch linkage in my 1982 CJ8.

Dropped the XJ off to have my unibody stiffeners welded in. Hopefully I will be able to get it trail ready before the 17th so I can go to rausch.

washed it thoroughly, got the up country springs installed yesterday went from 17" to 19" looks more like a jeep now rather than a station wagon ::) , rides nice even with bad shocks. time to find some shocks. Also swapped out the bad 4wd switch so now my 249>>>>242 swap is complete with a working VIC

These are images taken of my current Red (1982) Cj8 project.  The clutch linkage failed on me (again)  a little while ago.  I have been working on converting it to hydraulic with a external slave cylinder.  Some of these show the heat shield that I fabricated out of 1/16" stainless steel.  to protect the external slave cylinder from header heat.    I still need to get the hanging pedal out to drill a mounting hole for the master cylinder and according to the direction have a strengthening weld added.

Its alive again.  My 1981 CJ8 is back after a extended stay at F&S Racing and Adventurous 4x4.  I am pretty pleased.  it now has 4.10 gears one piece axle shafts and a rear lock right locker.  Next on the agenda correcting the speedometer,  maybe finding a couple of more 33x9.5R15 tires and fabricating a lower snow plow mount and maybe installing my full roll cage.

I got pulled over by the PSP for having "two wide a fender flare on a STOCK LJ rubicon"  Apparently a STOCK rubicon LJ is illegal in PA by the trooper's reckoning,   I was not sighted for this however as I think it was a excuse to pull me over to check for DUI drivers late at night.

Replaced the gear oil in the rear / replaced the bushings for the rear springs / added a second transmission cooler and bypassed the cooler in the radiator / installed a variable speed control on the Flex-a-lite fan.

discovered that I ripped my rear upper control mount off on the 93 (good enough reason to go rear long arm?) then went for a little trail ride in the 94
