Parades
« on: January 02, 2011, 01:48:38 pm »
I am in the process of talking with Hanover and York boroughs about parades.

I am posting this to see who would like to participate in any upcoming parades. I am looking into St. Pattys Day, Halloween and Memorial Day parades. Anyone that has any suggestions please let me know.

The St. Pattys Day parade is $25 to register and needs to be done by Feb 15. We have to have an Irish theme of course. If anyone wants to do this let me know. The parade is  on Sat march 12 2011 and we would need to be there by 1130am.

Please any thoughts or suggestions ...............

Sat. March 12 is the Downtown York St. Patty's parade, in case anyone is wondering.

Decorated Jeeps could be cool.  Or, someone can get a leprechaun suit and ride in a topless Wrangler and wave to the kiddies...lol.  Hmm, Chris B. has a nice GREEN Jeep!
Shame that we can't throw incendiary devices, though.  That takes a bit of the fun out of it.

Here is a letter I got today.....who is still in for this parade? I am going to make up some candy bags...

Good morning. This is just a brief message to let you know that we are finishing up work on the line of march and staging assignments and compiling information on parade-day events. We hope to email you exact staging locations on March 1 or 2 (a house number in the 400, 500 or 600 block of West Market Street), and a suggested arrival time based on your placement.

Units in division 1 will be asked to arrive starting at 12 noon, and units in the other divisions will be given staggered arrival times. You may arrive earlier than the suggested time if you need time to decorate your vehicle. The suggested arrival times are so that units located near the front of the parade are able to get through the staging area before it becomes too congested with entries.

There is a parade route map posted online at www.YorkSaintPatricksDayParade.org that you might find helpful.

Thank you again for your interest in the York Saint Patrick’s Day Parade, and we look forward to a great event on Saturday, March 12!

If you are on Facebook, please like our page, where we feature parade news on a regular basis.

Do they make any candies that look like Jeeps or off-road vehicles?
