Rear Pinon Seal..

i just changed my rear pinon seal or gasket and it still drips fluid....whats the deal do i need a rear end and do i need to fix asap i keep checking fluid its not bad...please feedback could i make it to the all breeds jeep extravaganza. ???

You positive you pressed it in evenly...? Any slight angle can compromise the seal.
A slight drip is not "life" threatening to the rear...certainly drivable.

yeah i thought i did, but im getting another one just to make sure, my buddy said put it in the freezer for a day it shrinks a tiny bit so you dont have to force it in and then expands once it warms up....

1. You din't get the new seal in right, did you put oil on the new seal?
2. The pinion seal surface is grooved or scored enough to let the new seal leak.
3. The pinion bearings are shot and letting the pinion move. New seal wont help.

What rear are you working on? How many miles?
Are you resetting the pinion preload (if crush coller)
You can run a leaky seal for a while if you keep it full. Bad pinion bearings on the other hand are going to need attention.

they also sell an aluminum sleave if youre pinion is severly scarred.
build it, beat it, break it, fix it, repeat
