Colli , what have you done with it since you bought it home ?

Well, I started it up in the garage and listened to it purr.  ;D Click on the image below to listen for yourself:

I sat in it for a while and looked at it a lot.
I looked up the paint code.
I looked up where to buy parts online.
I made a list of stuff I want to buy.
I ordered a service manual.

Oh, and I made arrangements to have a guy I know (nobody you know) work on the mechanical stuff. I don't have the knowledge or tools to do anything myself so I hired a trusted friend and I'm going to take it to his garage so he can work on it over the winter. I am planning on going over when I can to help so I can be involved in the process and hopefully get my hands dirty and learn some stuff!

I guess I need to start a thread in the "Work in Progress" section.

Colli:

I sent you a PM. I would be happy to work Commando with you as long as we keep the garage doors closed!  ;)

Seriously, I would love to come over after work one evening and check it out in person. I have a good idea that you may not have or want to do too much to it based on the photos.

I would definitely not turn that into a trail rig! They are too rare, and your looks like a gem.

Shoot me an e-mail and we can set a time to get together.

It would be a shame to not let it see the woods once in a while, even if only on some forest roads.

A stock Jeep can still do amazing things in it's element.

You know, you're right Dave. Maybe I should plan on bringing it to the EVOR spring ride in June. I'm sure I won't have any body work or paint done by then, so that would be a perfect time to take it out to play before it gets too pretty.
