« on: November 30, 2011, 04:15:34 pm »
There is a trail cutting for the new park up in Shamokin PA. They are currently getting trails ready for the Jeep Jamboree in August 2012.

Northumberland County's Anthracite Outdoor Adventure Area (AOAA) is currently in the planning phase. The proposed facility covers multiple municipalities located in southern Northumberland County. (Coal Township, Zerbe Township, Mount Carmel Township, East Cameron Township, West Cameron Township, and City of Shamokin)

http://www.anthraciteadventure.com/pages/Home.aspx

The first trail cutting is Saturday and Sunday Dec. 10 & 11, 2011. Must be up at the park at 8am. The entrance is located off of Rt 125.

Please contact me if you are able to make it. 410-218-2001

i didnt know this was a 2 day thing, so do they need more people on sat or sun. were in for one or the other. is it a normal trail trimming or heavy duty cutting. just so we bring enough tools.

I saw on the Jeep Jamboree site that the Jamboree in Shamokin this summer is already sold out. I am going to try and make up on Saturday.

Yeah, it's not an easy one to come accross for even those that have been up a couple times.
You can call Barry Yarworth (570) 850-7363 (Cell) and maybe he can give you an address to use your GPS.

Call barry ....

I have directions but they are not good and are land mark directions.
I was told you turn down the rd that a sign that says Easton Industries Quarry, the rd is closed but that is going to be the entrance to the place. Its a 1/2 mile past Burnside if you combing from shamokin.

Jeremy Meehan and his father will be meeting a group at 615 am in the Bass Pro Shop in Harrisburg, they plan on leaving the parking lot at 630. They know where the entrance is located , so anyone wishing to go should try to travel up with them.

If you go to the park homepage look for the notice about the jeep jamboree. There is a link for directions to the trailhead. I'm going sunday with the EVOR guys.
