Steering damper - wear. Symptoms

What are the typical symptoms for a worn steering damper (06 TJ)?

Peter,

I think the first sign you are going to see is "death wobble" especailly after you hit a rough patch of road.

   When they "start" going bad (a slight reduction in their effectiveness) you notice feedback through the steering wheel when you hit small potholes/imperfections in the road. Of course, when you don't "listen" then it just keeps getting worse till you do...
