Colli,
The VOLUME 16, ISSUE 1, (ON-LINE) newsletter is so 1st. CLASS , I just had to print it out in FULL COLOR.
WOULD THIS BE ANOTHER FIRST FOR THE CLUB, a full color newsletter ?
Of course that beautiful little red CJ-5 just takes my eye, The go anywhere, do anything vehicle, JEEP.
The toughest four letter word on wheels, JEEP.
Did you ever wounder why if you look on maps they show dotted lines and call them "Jeep trail" ? Not Bronco, Scout, or Power Wagon trail, but "JEEP TRAIL"!
It's because when the 3rd. generation of explorers in this country of the late 1940's saw that awesome vehicle, the JEEP, it didn't take long to leave there horses and mules in the corrals and start exploring the backwoods, mountains and valleys of this "GREAT COUNTRY", making "JEEP TRAILS" so that the 4th. generation could follow there tracks and see some of the most beautiful parts of this county, and to care for and maintain so the 5th. generation could enjoy also, and so on and so forth, or so they thought.
Then comes "Big Brother" aka. "Uncle Sam", with "Road Closed, Unless Posted Open". "Oh, lets put a gate across this trail, and keep everyone out."
So as time goes on you will see those little dotted lines, known as "Jeep trail" slowly disappear from the maps and become a part of history.
So always keep a place in your heart, and a garage, (that your spouse does not know about), for those little CJ"s. ;)

Really, they don't take up much space.
